    XS11 Heaven Book

I obtained a copy of XS11 Heaven by Bob Jones. It is a very interesting book. He logged over 200K miles on his bike. I’ve read the first 5 chapters. He sounds like quite a character.

His wife Karla posted on FB that she had copies of his book that she offered for $5 to cover shipping.

Did anyone on here know him? Was he a member of this forum?

YES, that certainly is a good read. Interesting Guy for sure.

YES, there are people on here that knew Bob. Quite a few in fact especially the KS, OK & TX XSives.

Karla was at our XSSE / VYR Rally a few years ago. Also Charlie Haas from Texas who rode a lot with Bob.
If you are coming the September Rally at Iron Horse you will likely get to see 3 or 4 of the Bob Jones bikes. Steve from Alabama has 3 or maybe 4 of them.
Greg in OK may have or had one. John in San Antonio has one. Not sure if MikeP or Curtis has one. Think Bohn had a couple at one point.

Karla brought a case or two of Bob's books to the Rally and Sold Out. Good you snagged a copy.

Greg (BA80) is a good resource on what bike is where. Bob sure was extremely creative and the his custom bikes are beautiful.

Bob's mechanic, Bruce Roggy joined us as well. He rode a Honda sport bike to the rally with a fishing rod strapped to the side. The bike had a homemade windscreen that was most unusual.

I’m really looking forward to the gathering in NC. I’d love to see some of the bikes he worked on.

I met Bob in Dec 2005.I commissioned him to build a touring bike for me.In April 2006 I rode the bike home to Alabama. Since then my brother and I have acquired a total of 5 of Bobs bikes. We have not missed the fall rally in 10 years or so. Would love to tell the whole story to the group in Sept.Bob was a unique character. We will be bringing some of his creations with us. We ride them!!

I chatted with Karla on messenger. She is very grateful that we are discussing Bob. She wants to know details of the rally in September. She i# thinking about coming to the rally. That would be great!

Edit: I sent her the dates and the link to the venue.

No such button on my screen. But thanks. Maybe it's this macbook I'm on. I've posted new topics before-just not on this computer. And "subscribe" is all there is-no new topic button.

                              Thanks for the tip, Bob!
