  • Gas cap for a 79 XS11F

Trying to finish up this build but I have the gas cap last to finish. I got a new seal but I have to be missing something. Schematics look like I have everything but I have to be missing something. Any of the workarounds I have found are for thr other style cap.
Anyone have a 79 F that can help me out?

Looks good to me. That is all you need to have it work as it should. You have it back together, so just fill and ride!
The only thing I did for my cap was pull the plates out of the lock. I can put any key that will go into the cap, push, turn, and open. But then this tank is going on a Special, so I can ride farther between fill-ups.
