Mirror question 79 special... Round or rectangular?

Mine came with rectangular and after doing "reseaech" (looking at pics) I thought it was supposed to have round... So.. I bought brand new Yamaha round mirrors... Leftover NOS perfect in the bix.



Before I sell the round ones I wanted to make sure the rectangular ones are correct for a 1979 xs1100 Special

Yeah, the "correct" mirrors are the rectangular ones. Yamaha put the round ones on the standards, with the square gauges. I've used the round on the Special and the "square" on the Standards myself. They just look better, IMHO.
