A few months ago I got a 1980 XS1100 that had been outside stored not running for nearly fifteen years. It’s now running and almost ready to ride. A couple pictures here, the one with the “sissy bar” is how it came to me and the other is a couple months after I’ve had it.

Looks like you preferred to put a 1979 Special seat on a 1980 Special.-Mike

I did put a ‘79 seat on the bike. The original seat, aluminum grab bar and tail light was removed. The ‘79 seat fits without any mounting or interference problems and I installed a conventional fender mount tailight/license setup.Comment

Went for the first 10 mile ride since getting the bike running safely. Small steps before a big leap, I’ve never had a XS 1100 before and for a 41 year old bike to ride as well as it does is impressive to me. The motor is smooth and responsive and the suspension (without a tune up) was comfortable. I like it.Last edited by cnap504; 05-04-2021, 07:25 PM.Comment
