    price and inginuity

Its probably a good thing the turbo was taken off Ebay. As stated earlier I would have spent alot of money on it. Now after the initial discouragement of not being able to buy it I have been putting the brain fluids to work, and I found that it wouldn't be too difficult to set up. Still I do like to be lazy sometimes. I have been searching around for info about these cycle setups, and have found tons of info right down to some equations that may be helpfull. Now all I have to do is put something in motion. Bottom line I guess is many people want to have something a bit original, and the fact that it would have more bragging rights to say "yah, I built that" Whether it be a turbo kit, nos kit or custom job of any sort it is part of what I believe is unique to being a classic bike owner. It doesn't mean that a cool project bike has to be abused with the performance parts. After all just one time with the right amount of people around when you wax some punk kid on thier new crotch rocket is all it takes. Heck wouldn't it in fact be easier to buy a new bike and buy every aftermarket available for it? No thanks.

Yesterday morning on the way into work I was right behind two bikes merging onto I-64. While on the on ramp the second bike twitched, I have no idea why, and he laid it over two car lengthes in front of me with us all going 40 MPH+. I jumped out and helped the guy. He was OK but shook up. After he and his bike were on the side of the road and his wife (on the bike in front) was with him I went on to work. It really shook me up, however. Seeing this Normal Joe take a dive on an on ramp was a visual I could not shake all day. I am really glad he was OK.

I think I will pass on turbo, nitro, etc. I think I might spend some money on armored pants to ride in. Maybe I need a sports car to tinker with.

        my 2cents

Not to take this thread in another direction, but I, believe it or not, do agree with the safety concerns. I think we all have some bad stories to tell about motorcycle accidents. You live long enough and around anything but your living room you are exsposed to more than what may be wanted. I know I have my share. The trick is to live long enough to tell the stories, but live while your doing it. I do like the phrase 'a little common sense goes a long way'. Interpret it any way you'd like. Some would say the comon sense would tell you not to even think about performa nce parts. While others might say live a little but don't be an idiot. Personally I don't really enjoy going fast on public streets. I'd prefer to take in the scenery, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy knowing that I could.
No disrespect to anyone and their opinions, so...thats mine in a nut shell. Truth be told I just really love a good debate.

I'll step off the soap box now.

That's totally cool Glarus. I get where you are coming from. I guess some days I feel the truth of the expression: "There are old dogs. There are bold dogs. But there are no old, bold dogs."

Hehe... I like that Risky. And if there be any old bold dogs they are those leatherly, scarred, hunched over guys that smack you in the knees with thier cane and say: "When I was yer age..."
