So DiverRay, I should drop the gear out and take care of those fillets at the base of the dogs?

Edit....It only took a few minutes to knock down the fillet. Thanks for your input Ray. In reality the answer was in my mind as I was responding to your post... LOL. Click image for larger version

Just test fit with the slots and be sure all three engage at the same time. That IS the fiddly bit, as it will probably take as much time as you have already spent on this project. Once done, you should not have any problems for the life of the engine, and that can be as much as 200K miles.

Bartlett clutch springs, whoa what a difference from stock. Looks like 1.25 x the wire diameter and same pitch. Hope these things don't give me Popeye forearm on the left side. Doing the highly technical compress it with my fingers test, I can barely move the Bartlett but can compress the original almost down to the length of the new spring. Click image for larger version

Scrub a dub dub... cleaning the motor and detailing the bike while it's all apart.

3 stage cleaning., 409 and scrub brushes, Brillo pads and my steamer. Slow going but will be well worth the time spent.

Enough cleaning on the front. I'm sure I will enjoy taking it down the gravel driveway.
