  • Another Cosmetic question

I've been polishing the fork tubes with Magiars to reove the discoloration in the stock finish. What I have are some really NICE looking tubes. Question is, what's the best way to keep them that way?

    polish them daily

Some folks say to clear coat them, but others say that that reduces the shine and can yellow.
I don't think it's really a big issue. When washing the bike, how hard is it to take a little Mother's and a T- shirt and givin' them the "once-over"? Smooth and round... no boltheads nor hard to reach places. They won't dull nor tarnish any quicker than anything else.
I just reread your post. I sanded all the stock laquer/varnish off, and then buffed them on a wheel. Very low maintenence.

Read this thread about Rub and Buff. I am going to experiment with this stuff this winter.
