Hey guys I have a weird issue when riding my bike. After 10 minutes or so the cluster will go completely dead. No rpm, turn signals, fuel gauge etc. I keep riding for a little more time and it comes back, then off, then back on. Happens randomly any ideas how to fix this?
Cluster goes in and out on 1978 xs1100.

Still chasing this issue down. Speedo will work, so will the high beam indicator. What stops working is the turn signals, neutral light, fuel light, and tachometer. Any ideas where to look? Thanks!80 XS1110 SG, RD400Comment

If it still has the original fuse box, I'd start looking there. On my 81LH The 20 amp turn signal's loose fuse holder caused the green neutral light and red oil pressure lights not to light up as well as no brake lights and no horn or turn signal lights.Bob's Bikes:

If you have not done so, go through ALL the ground wire connections, including battery. I clean them and then put a small amount of anti-sieze on the connectors. This is for ground only! It has oil and aluminum particles in it, so it keeps things clean for a long time.Ray Matteis

Interesting I didn't even think about the fuse block. I should just replace it with a blade style one. Thanks guys!80 XS1110 SG, RD400Comment
