    Ahhhh.....
    Another kid on a GSXR750.....
Left-hand, double turn lane. He is at the crosswalk in the right lane. I am one car back in the left lane on my LG.
He tiptoe's around the (outer) turn then hits the throttle, front wheel comes up and he zips down the road.
One block later he notices me in his mirror and turns around to see what is on his tail (I went around the cage and was back in the left lane).
He turns back forward and hits the gas again, looks back and I'm still there. He's looking hard trying to see what kind of bike I'm on. I twirl my finger in a circle then point for him to look back front before he goes through the red light ½ mile after all this began.
He turned right, I went straight......... probably lucky for me.
Ahhhh, Friday night on my Midnight Special.

If I go to another bike in the future I would still have a hard time looking past an FZ1.

      ....

Still trying to dial in my carbs so my bike will scream like yours do.

4-1 pipes seem harder for me to tune than stock.

Most of the big cruisers, as we all know, are no competition. I've pulled away from a lot of them. I ride with two friends, one a Kawi ZX-12R, and gixxer 1000. Both of these bikes easily loose me in a straight line. But because of their cost and fragility, neither one has the guts I have in the twisties. This wouldn't be possible if not for the fork brace, progressive suspension, and H rated tires.

The though of Synchronizing all 24 of those carbs is enough to make me dizzy.

Yup, seen that one before. Don't think I'll try and race that bike. 3rd gear 120?

Fascinating. Where do people get the time and cash and brains to put something like that together....

I'm interested if anyone has raced against Suzuki GS1000, Kawasaki KZ1000, Yamaha V-Max, or Honda V-65 bikes.

I know on the Suzuki GS forum I once read a post from an owner who said all he sees is the tail light of the XS11 until top end gearing and then the XS falls over and the GS has more on the top.

                            Etc.

Of course it's always nice to hear of an XS beating a plasti-rocket.

I have a friend with a first year Vmax that he bought new (the recent ones are slower) and I haven't actually raced him but having ridden a Vmax demonstrator back when they first came out I'm pretty sure he can easily clean my clock. He waxes me pretty bad in high speed roll-ons 85-100mph.

I had GS1000's including a blue/white 'S'. For me flat on tank they were good for 180 - 190kph most times. XS11 has more pick-up and top speed slightly more but similar. A GSX11 would slowly creep away at top speed from my 'S' Back then XS11 was 'The One'. Watched CBX versus XS11 in a production 6-hour. Pretty close - until the CBX motor exploded in flames after about 3 hours. An XS11 won the annual production 6 - hour in Aussie. Around 79' or so. No mean feat on a shaftie tourer.
