  • quick octopus question

Could someone tell me the correct orientation of the tiny half moon shaped hole on the edge of the middle plastic section of the octo? Forgot to make a note when I took it apart. Thanks

It's a vent. Point it down.

A warning...the aftermarket rebuild kits have an incorrect length plunger on the diaphram...and will not actually cut off the gas.

If you're rebuilding it, blow through it when you're done. Without vacuum applied, it shouldn't pass air...

    Best of luck!

I'm asking because I have one that spit gas out that hole. It does not pass air when I blow into it (via the vacuum nipple). and the diaphragm looks ok. So I thought maybe the orientation had something to do with it. If it's a vent why would it make any difference?
