New member here, typical motorcycle hobbiest, pleased with my recent purchase of a1978 XS1100 ! Owned singularly by a now 80 year old gent who pampered the bike like a baby. I am pleasantly surprised at the quickness this behemoth has, and really like the crash bar with highway pegs, large windscreen, sissy bar with backrest and pouch and extended rack. Got myself a new Grocery Getter !

Welcome to the "club"! I think you'll find that with some bags, you have a machine that can take you anyplace in comfort, not just to pick up supplies. Keep the oil changed, try to run ethanol free regular grade gas and you should get another 75K miles out of it.

I am in Branford , Connecticut about 50 miles east of New York City. Coastal town of about 25,000 residents. I design houses and take my bikes to the job sites, I get to ride just about every day ! This XS 1100 is a beast !
