yes please keep us posted on this. I would be very interested in finding an aftermarket exhaust that will fit withe the oil cooler.

Is the oil cooler on your bike factory. That is with the plate between the bottom of the oil pan and the top of the filter housing. and with the hoses running down between pipes 1 and 2 and 3 and 4?

Well, now I am going around in circles with MAC. I have written proof that they stated this woudl fit with the oil cooler. Now I am unsure, I called looking for my exhaust.

Why should I be in a hurry to get them right? I mean I only ordered them about 10 days ago. So I called the Canada MAC shop. They said it was back ordered pretty heavily, so I thought I would double chec it's compatiblity. Guy says, "my books state it will not fit." I said "Your e-mail said it would, so I ordered it." He is suppose to call me tomorrow with conformation, meanwhile I am waiting to see if I have the oil cooler on my XJ or not. Should find that out tomorrow also.

On the other hand, the exhaust finally arrived in the warehouse I ordered it from, and he was going to ship it today, I told him to wait until MAC figures it out.

Here's the really good part. I had called the US MAC office sometime in-between everything to see if they could get it to me faster.
#1 That Particular Exhaust is no longer being made. (CAN Office says we are still selling them.)
#2 US Office knows nothing about the particulars on their exhaust. ( I talked to a tech, not a receptionist by the way)
#3 I now have 4 different source tracking the same problem, and they each have 4 ways of reaching me, and I end up calling them for information each time...

Is there any easier way of doing this?

I'm with 32bat for the most part-still got stock pipes-takes a little work to keep front pipes looking decent. Rears are fine except a little curb scrape on right rear. I am considering rechroming font header pipes to cut down on upkeep. Anybody been there done that? Then again a little noise would be okay- wouldlike to hear a 4 into 1.

I have discovered a product called Steel-it. It has a stainless steel pigment in it and claims to be good to 1200 degrees. Being Stainless Steel it also claims to be an anti-rust coating.

It is steel gray in color.

Ok, here's the nitty gritty on MAC 4-1 Black Megaphone...

I ordered an exhaust from www.2canucks.com
You have to order from the Canadian MAC, becuase the American one does not sell it no more. It is usually on back order, and will take a couple weeks. By the time mine came in, I was waiting to see if my bike was totaled or not. I asked him to wait, and not ship yet, later that day he sold it out from under my noise.

I was to pay $180 US.
$20 Shipping to UPS on arrival.
$13 border cost that UPS would mail me in 4-6 weeks supposedly.

All in All about $215 to get the exhaust.
I ended up getting a MAC 4-2 Chrome for $310-$325.

Appearently, MAC is discontinuing that product all together. The 2Canucks.com people have 2 left, and they are trying for more. If your interested, try for it. Note: Will not fit with the oil cooler.

                      I got a set of MAC 4 into 1.
they worked nice but i had to take off the center stand.

then one day on the freeway the baffel blew out of it.
                      and it sounded terrible.
I didnt want to wait a couple weeks fo shipping
So I spoke with a few friends

I went over to Meineke Muffler shop.
Had then cut off the horn part of the exhaust.
then had them weld on a 22in Glass pack with a fancy crome end on it.
then took it an has a gloss black powder coat put onto it.
sounds cool and did it all for under 30 bucks.

                        2canucks

I don't really trust them. I got my CC statement, they still have not taken the $180 charge off for the part they sold out from under me. I finageled them a little, getting a check within 2 weeks. Or they are going before the BBB.

However, I ordered a 4-2 Chrome MAC Tapered. It just got put on this week, should get it this week-end. Hope it goes together all right...

Don't mess with 2canucks.com, they are not very honest.

OK, 2canucks.com is not a reliable source. They ordered me an exhaust, and when I asked them to delay shipping for a day or too to see if my bike was totaled, they sold my exhaust in the store. So I canceled my order, and told them I would look elsewhere. They were suppose to credit my CC. They did not credit my card for 3 months in short, I am considering legal action for repayment in finance charges, and other details. If anybody has faced a similar deal with another company, I would like some more info.

I now have a Mac 4-2 exhaust on my bike I bought locally. The speedo is still not working, but I am suppose to get it back at lunch today working. I will take some pictures of the exhaust for those interested parties.
