  • Engine installation

Hi all! Got the old motor and tranny out(had to argue with it couple of times) gettin' ready to put other motor in and was hopin maybe you could lend me a trick as to whats the best way to hold the shaft boot back away from getting in the way while putting motor in from right side of bike. Left boot attached to shaft end and need a good trick to hold it pulled back out of the way so to speak. You all seem to have neat little tricks cause of "been there, done that" thing.

2 guys,a good floor jack,3/4 inch piece of plywood, remove rear swingarm, take oil filter off, lift motor with plywood move it over to frame.Bike is on centre stand. I always found it easier to put swingarm on after motor was in. Its a pretty tight fit. Gives you a chance to clean and grease that area anyway.
