a motor is a motor is a motor... what most people do when a carburetor is flooding(usually bad needle/seat... or float) is open butterflys to increase idle speed.... after running motor hard motor will be cleared out...so if you retiurn to idle butterflys are open too wide and will be trying to run on transission holes and/ or main ...,.as long as it's idleing to high it may not try to load up again untill you go thru the process of backing of idle adjustment screw...then it will slowy slow down and to keep it running you will start having to jack it back open..... bottom line repair flooding condition and set idle before you concern yourself with other crap ....

Sounds to me like you need to set your floats 1 or 2 mm higher (from upside down, that would be + 1 to 2mm)

that would shut off the flow sooner, so you would'nt be flooding and overflowing your carbs. You may also want to check the oil again for fuel in it - via the match test (be careful!-posts on gas water heaters and such).

      good luck.
