This is not an answer, but I had an 80SG that had "stick-on" emblems rather than screw-ons. No emblem indents. If you are thinking about painting the tank, it opens up more possibilities for paint jobs (sans emblems) without filler.

You can use any xs1100 gas tank between 78-81 production run. Special will fit on standard model or vice versa.Comment
