  • Clutch or Tranny?

I tried searching for other theads about this but couldn't find any.

I am having trouble but I can't decide whether it is the clutch or the tranny. It seems when I get over say 5500-6000 rpm the bike slips out of gear of the clutch disengages (not sure which). The reason I cannot decide is that it happens in all gears unless I roll on slow.

    PLS help.

Probably a slipping clutch. If there's a problem with the transmission, it will come out of gear with a lot of noise, and usually froom one gear. If it seems to be 'slipping' out, that's what it is. Try searching for 'slipping', 'clutch', and 'oil' and you should get lots of hits.

Thanks for the input guys. I will get into it and do a little adjusting. Before I posted I sifted through the clutch/slipping/oil threads for about an hour and there is so much info it was stifling. Most seemed to talk about slow rpm slipping and running synthetic. I had recently put in synthetic but the slip was there before. Being new with oil bath clutches (my second bike but first one was stolen 2 weeks after I bought it.) I wasn't entire sure about typical or unusual symptoms. Again, thanks.
