    79 xs1100 special

How critical is the gap between the rotor and the pick up coils? Can there be a large enough gap that could cause a weak spark? Has anyone had any history of problems in this area up to and including weak coils? Thanks in advance.

Gap between the rotor and pick-up... pick-ups just determine when the coils should fire. Weak spark can be from low voltage going to coils, or bad coils, etc.
(just my thoughts.. no history of this prob)
