The king queen seat Thats on my 81 Venturer 1100 (H) has a fuel line routing diagrahm to carbs. The lower left side of that sticker has a coding of 3H3-10. Is that a legitimate coding as to what model that seat was really designed to fit? I put it on the bike when it was new, and don't remember what model it was really intended for. As many of you know, I got the bike back a month ago, and the seat has really went south. I think I have some options here as far as replacing it, short of re-upolstering it, but not sure if an 80-81 Special seat will work.....with a few adjustments, think it will as one on there doesn't catch the hook in front....never did, and it's been on there 24 years. Wanting to see if any of you here can give some insight as to what will fit what without any real drastic mods, so as to still bolt on catches and look correct, even if it's not totally correct application?

Seat
Thanks John and Risky, you all are pretty helpful here. If that designation is for the 79 Special, then that explains why when I put the seat on there new, I had to remove the rear rubber bumpers in order for it to set right and also to be able to leave nuts on a couple threads in order to slip on and off slots on frame. So with having to do that, maybe having to do a similar minor mod, should be able to fit and at least utilize bolt-down on two I'm checking out, one's for an 80-81 Special, and may have to "scrunch" the front of cushion up against tank a bit, as the Venturer tank is a bit squared-off. The other was mounted on an 81 Venturer, and looks identical to the one I now have. So as long as either has the slotted pieces attached, or the threaded holes for them, I think they would be "workable, don't you think?81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

I think it would be totally workable... but then again I tend to be overly optimistic sometimes. I figure with a grinder and a welder (or pop rivets) all things are possible!
Joking aside, altering the seat mounts does not seem like it should be that hard if you needed to do it.1979 XS1100 Special with 81 carbs
