Thanks for that info John.....thought it would...just makin sure as I got an 81 replacement motor-tranny locally for that Venturer 1100 of mine. I thought that was pretty fortunate, getting an exact replacement with 30,000 on it, all plugs are a lite tan color, and all electrical is just 'plug and go'. So figure for the $200 dollars, and it being all correct as far as flat black valve cover and black lower cyl., couldn't really go wrong. The bike shop I got it from robbed the oil pump out of it for another bike as it apparently had a cracked housing, and they didn't want to take a chance or the liability factor since the bike went thru there shop. Was going to rob the one out of mine when I got it out of bike, but see the ebay gods have one, so I'll see what happens there. Anyway, looks like my winter project may be ready to rip by time all the leaves hit the ground. Sure would have been nice to have had the carbs that were on this engine, as clean as it was runnin. Mine had run abit rich from day one when I bought it new. Looks like it just got worse all the years I didn't own it as the header pipes on 2 & 3 have a blue tint to them.......maybe that will disapear after runnin it a bit with this engine. Gonna clean and check float levels on the carbs before runnin it tho. So if run into any glitches at that point, I'll ask here, as you all are pretty informed.......I'm at 5,000 ft here, and it was at 6,500 ft where I bought it new. so if u have so thoughts on main jetting these carbs....guess there pretty limited as to getting dialed just rite, being 81 and all.....didn't really want to get into drillin out plugs, etc. The 20,000 I put on it never discolored pipes.....just initially puffed a little black under hard acceleration as I remember.....never had any work done then as far as adjustments or float levels set.....just rode it, as it ripped pretty well, even in full dress form....Thanks again for all the good informative following on these 'sleeper' rockets guys.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.
