i saw some posts referencing using the kick pedals off the 650 and up, but does anyone know if the kick for an 81 special II will work on a 79 11 special? the kick is missing from this one and i know i'll need to get it it's own at some point (mainly because i actually use the one on the 400 frequently) but if i can delay buying one more thing for a bit it would make my wife happier lol.

my '78 has a non folding lever hidden away in the frame- if your starter/battery ever konks out you unscrew it, put it on, start it, put the kicker back in and your good to go! Is that a standard feature on our bikes?! -
YES
its a standard feature, but, alas, mine is missing. had a really good streak going this weekend on repairs. changed oil, changed plugs, hand cranked the engine to spread the oil (no kick start lever so i couldn't see if it would turn over) moved onto the brakes and cleaned the brown jelly that used to be fluid out of the lines and resevoir, and just as i'm thinking things are sweet, BAM, sheared off one of the bleeder screws on one of the front brake calpers. (sigh). but if thats the worse thing that happens, i'll be a very happy camper.Comment
