Needed: Starter Button with Spring

I am looking for a "Starter Button with Spring" for an 81 xs1100 H model.

Any ideas? Will the one from mikesxs.com work?

Using a stubby screw driver works but I am looking for something more permanent.

I have the same problem right now. I ordered one from partsnmore.com, which was out of stock and cancelled my order. I then tried oldbikebarn.com; they were out of stock too. My latest attempt was ebay, but the seller sent me a kawasaki part instead the adverstised/pictured yamaha part. I am still waiting on the seller to answer my emails to get corrrect part. Good luck with the search and if you find a company that has them in stock, please post where I can find one too.

Try contacting Tkat He "had" some aluminum buttons that he made in his machine shop specifically for the XS. Not sure if he has any left or not.

Well, I just placed an order through MikeXS.com for the illusive starter/horn button. I am saying a prayer that it is in stock and I actually get it.

The buttons from Mikesxs will work. I replaced both on my 81 SH with no problem. Just be careful of the solder joints. Some of them can be fragile.

I have a couple throttles from SR250's that I plan use on my 2 XS11's.

The have an updated starter button that has side contacts rather than the end contact that the XS11 uses stock. Other than a larger diameter button, it looks the same but works a lot better.

These aren't all that hard to find.

Well, Mikesxs came through and very quickly, too. I ordered two (2) starter/horn buttons on Saturday and they arrived today!!!

Starter buttons

Did the ones you ordered from MikesXS work? Mine got to where it would barely start the bike. I rolled it off for about 4 days, the finally opened it up, took it apart and cleaned the contacts. It was pretty gunked up. It has worked fine since then, but I think it is about shot. I want to order a new one for it if I can find one.

The buttons from Mikesxs will work. They are the correct buttons for an xs11.

Thats good news. I just checked them out on Mikes and they are six bucks apiece, plus 4 dollars shipping, unless I get some other parts that add up to 35 dollars. After that shipping is free. I probably need enough other things to do it.
