Are you looking for a windshield for a fairing, or just a full size windshield? JC Whitney has one that I'm going to put on my 80SG when I get ready to put it back together. Here's the one that I like . It's $159.

        Re: windshield

If it goes into a Vetter faring, the major catalogs are good for that. Look in JCWhitney under the Goldwings section.

Do a search for Plexifairing or National Cycle on the internet. Don't remember where I got mine but it is great and looks good. A couple of guys in the Yamha triples group had them, I like the looks and coverage so I bought one. A little warm when the it get hot (90+) but also warm when it's a little cool out (50-).

              John,
Have an almost identical one from National, but it doesn't have those two brackets running up the shield. Looks a lot better without them. You're gonna be spending a lot of time looking at/through those.
              But that's just my thoughts.

                Brackets

Actually, my old windshield had mounting brackets in pretty much the same position, and they didn't distract me. Actually, I look over the top or through the top couple of inches, and I don't even see the brackets. Hell, my nose sticks way out in front of my face, and it's in my line of sight, but I've learned to see past it also

I picked up a scratched National off of e-bay. It was a returned whse item. The scratch was tiny and on the bottom where I can't see it anyways. It was about 1/3 retail and fit several Yamahas so I figured it would fit the XS. It did...

I have a National Cycle Plexistar 2 on my 79F and it works great. It's a little bigger than some of the others - it flares out in front of my hands and goes below the headlight. They have 2 versions - 1 for square and 1 for round headlights. It's a little hot in the summer, but it comes off and goes back on very easily after you set it up the first time. I have it off for the summer, but it's starting to get a little nippy here in the AM so it will go back on soon. I put some 'superbike' bars on recently, so it will be interesting to see how the shield works with them.

                        windshield replacement

I also live in Colo. ( Grand Junction). If you have a vetter or windjammer fairing on he bike, u can go on e-bay and select and windshield there that is for those fairings (some even new) and bid on them. The other choice is Motorcycle Accessories here in Grand Junction can order you a new one, with the plastic replacement screws for bout 50 bucks. Windshields are the easiest thing to get and replace......Brant
