I looked, and I only still have a rear rotor for the XJ, and it's rough looking

I've heard that the XS rotors are interchangeable between models - not tried it myself though.
The XJ front rotors are the same (as in they even have the same part number) as the 1981 standard and special - H & SH. So at least you can widen your search.
The rear rotor is the same as the right front rotor on those units that are slotted. On unslotted rotors, they are all the same. It's the slots make them omni directional. Just don't make the mistake of geting rotors from an xs750-850, as they are a smaller diameter. Rotors from a later model xs650 are the same as an xs11's.
