Did you check the fuse under the seat? If your not looking for it its kind of hard to find. It will be in a rubber block. You have to pull it apart to get to the fuse.

      Hey Leland,

Okay, you say you can push the starter button, and the ?neutral? light blinks, but nothing else happens! Could be a bad ground in the starter button. Could also be a bad starter solenoid.

First with the key ON, you can take a jumper wire that you know is well grounded, and then touch it to the small BLACK wire connection on the solenoid. IF the starter spins, then you've got a bad starter button ground, pull off the handlebar control and check and clean contacts.

IF the starter doesn't engage, then..
take a screwdriver and cross the large wire posts. IF the starter engages and starts, then it's the solenoid. You can take it apart, and clean the contacts within...corrosion causes lots of problems.

IF it doesn't make the starter engage, then it could be a shorting starter motor. But you'll want to check and clean ALL connections in the starter circuit, and the Engine to Frame ground as well as the Battery to ground!

          Okay Michelin,

Yes, the starter relay=solenoid. Your Starter=MOTOR is good, but the RELAY that sends the high amount of power to the motor MAY or MAY NOT be bad. I told you above how to test it.

It looks as though either ENGLISH is not your native language, or typing is not your forte`?

Perform the test mentioned in my previous post to determine IF your starter relay/solenoid is actually bad or not! Then, if the RELAY/Solenoid is bad, it can be replaced.

          BikeBandit has it:

I just had this problem as well. Pull the white switch plug apart on the starter relay (solenoid) and make sure the contacts are clean. My starter would delay when I pushed the button. Then it got to where it didn't start at all! Cleaning the plug contacts took care of it completely!

oops..just looked at the date on this post...oh well useful advice for sombody I hope!
