cdi black box

Hi just wondering are all black boxes on xs1100 interchangeable

meaning will standards fit specials and work as they should

and vice versa,and 78/79 fit 80's models also

Hey there Gaffer,

The TCI's are interchangeable amongst Specials and Standards, but are limited in the years. The 78-80 are same 2H7 series, the 81 is the 4RO cause the Cent. Advance Mechanism was removed and incorporated into the TCI, then the 82 and later XJ's use the 10M series, vacuum advance removed, incorporated into the TCI with use of vacuum sensor!
