  • Fork height

Can anyone tell me the stock (from the factory)
mounting height of the fork tubes?
    Flush? 1/4 inch up? ????
There must me a place where the engineers
designed the bike to ride best.

I believe it's supposed to be ,Top of the fork tube flush with the triple tree. ( The fork tube, not the cap ) There is a thread that someone started not that long ago on this subject about ride, control and lowering of the bike via raising the fork tubes in the triple tree. If the forks are rose up ( tube about 1/2-3/4 in ) from the top of the tree, It should give you better corner handleing, but for the long haul, should give you a not so comfy ride. I would do a search and find this thread. Got alot of good info there.
I've got my SF set with the tubes flush with the top of the triple tree. ( According to Clymers )

I reckon flush is best too - if raised up, the old dunger steers quicker but won't track as smoothly on corners and ya have to keep correcting your line.
