Middle Drive Breather

Hi All
I've just got back from the XS1100 Rally in Belgium (excellent but tiring) and have had a problem with oil drops coming from the middle drive breather.



It was enough to coat the front nearside of the trailer that I was hauling!

Have any other XSives had this problem? I checked and topped up the oil before I set off. Could it be that I had overfilled the unit? I've since found that when my bike is on the main stand - it isn't level so that wouldn't help with accurate measuring.

The end of the mid drive vent hose actually attaches to the forward bolt that attaches the airbox to the frame, under the seat. There is a metal bracket that holds the hose in place.

Aaaah, I'm with you now. I've only got this XJ recently and assumed that everything was as it should be. So maybe it had been routed wrongly sometime in its past.
