    looking to see if anyone knows if the parts form an 81 XS1100 will fit a 79 XS1100

    Depends on what parts your wanting to use. Most parts are the same. There were a few changes to the motor/carbs. as well as the speedo gauge.

      Hi Fish_Chaser, I got so fed up working out 'what part fits what model' that I wrote an XS11 parts number website.         Are they both specials or standards? Very few parts other than motors, rear end work on both. The 81 will have a different CDI box and coils.
