Unfotunately I have tried all of the tech tricks and to no avail , So I may see if a machine shop can fix it . However I am hoping to find a carb assembly so that if it happens again I'll have extra parts.

I'll look into it. All I need is the same carb body I'll get some identity markings off of mine and we may be able to figure it out.

The 650 was in production a long time. As with the XS11, various carbs were used over the years. I believe that they used a BS34 rev.2 just like the 78-79 XS11 at one point. Obviously, the linkages and fuel tees are different, but you shouldn't have any trouble. The Yamaha fiche online will be your best bet. Grab your favorite beverage and look up the 11 to get your carb P/N and or exploded view. Then look up successive years of the 650 to match it up. I'd start with '76 or '77 and move up from there. If you don't see a match by 1980, well... Anyway, be careful as the BS38 looks very similar. Heck, they all look the same. Hope that wasn't "carbist" (All you Mikunis look alike...)

                  carbs

Do they look like the carbs you have on your xs? no point in putting you through the removing of them if they won't be useful.

Unfortunately mine have no obvious markings on them as to what part number they are , anyone know where to look on these for numbers ?

I will also see if I can't figure out from the fiche files if they are the same body

Put a single 38mm flatslide mikuni on a 750 Norton and it'll run perfect.
