    forks do they fit ?? 80-79 special?

    Hi need some forks ,found 1980 specials ,anyone know if the 80's will fit 79sf special??

    Gaffer, they should fit, only there are some differences. The 80's are air adjustable, and the 79's aren't. They only have a spring pre-load adjustment. I think it would be an improvment to get the newer ones.

        Both of my 79sf front forks are air assisted. The 79f might of had spring only front forks and the 80g had air assisted forks but all Specials had air assisted.

          i thought mine were air assisted also??

          i read something somewhere ,,there is a difference?

          got a mountain of books ,real drag , so i will look, but was hoping for a quick answer on here.

            '79 Specials have air adjust front forks. In fact, all Specials do (I think).

              Looks like I was wro..wrooo...wrooon, oh hell, mistaken on that one. Sorry guys. My xs750SF didn't have air forks, so I just assumed that the xs11 didn't have them in 79 either.

                Special forks in specials and Standard forks in standards raise no issues. Only when you switch between standard and special do you have to take into account different leg lenth due to different rake.
