RT turn signal works Blink Blink LFT one just turns on

Right turn signal flasher and cancels fine. Left side turns on but won,t flash or cancel automatically. Solutions???

1. Clean your ground connections on that side.

2. Make sure proper bulbs installed front & rear. Low wattage bulbs won't draw enough current to heat up the flasher.

Also make sure both bulbs come on if 1 is blown they wont work

Mine turned out to be the actual blinker. Got a new electronic blinker at an auto parts store now works great. My left turn signal would stay on and if I hit the blinker with a screwdriver it would start blikning again. That is the way I diagnose things, whack them with a screwdriver! Kind of impractical to turn and whack it with a screwdriver when you are driving down the road at 70 though!!!

If you go with a new blinker get the 2 prong one, not the 3 prong one. just rotate it until it works. I got the electric kind b/c I want to use led lights eventually.

Those of us who live in areas where the bike gets 6 months of hibernation are familar with corrosion. My signals never work every spring. Some times the right light comes on, sometimes the left, sometimes nothing works. Just go into the switch and clean everything up. Check all contacts.
