.. well pggg, i could'nt wait a week, the longest i could go this time was only two days .., i must be addicted to the dyno, i can think of alot worse things to be addicted to..
..well if you remember the air fuel line on my last run stated that i was still running a little rich, so insted of going through the trouble of figuring out which jet to change next, i just took the bottom of the air box off and poked 3 more 1/2" holes in it
.. apparently this was a good thing because now the "Red" bike is making 85 horsey's and 62 ft lbs torque today.. Can i have an Aman brothers!

.. the first pic is of the first run on the red bike[in red].. and todays run on the red bike[in blue].. at this point we have an increase of 6 hp and 6 ft lbs torque, with straighter lines over a broader rpm range

.. and in this pic we have the difference between the "Ugly" bike[in green] and the "Red" bike[in blue].. i'm not sure but i think if this was a dyno shoot out the Red one has come from behind and is now winning
.. the red bike feels really good to ride now, almost peeky and very ready to go fast ..this bike is turning out to be my all time favorite .. thank you Yamaha!

The numbers are especially impressive when you realize that the factory only claimed 95 hp and 61 fp at the crankshaft, these numbers are at the rear wheel! Way to go GNEPIG!

                      Smokin dyno

This is one smokin Eleven no doubt, especially in light of the fact it's basically stock.Ported big valve heads,an 1180 big bore kit and a really slick 4 into one header, this thing would be up around a 100 HP,totally killer.I only have one question,Why are you using 4th. gear for your test?

because on a dyno you use the one to one ratio of the vechile to got the most exact amount of power that the vechile is putting out

.. hey Dan, apparently 4th gear is the standard for which they do these tests, it was done the same way at the other shop that i had my other bike dynoed at first. they said they do all the bikes in fourth gear ..i really dont know why
. we tried a 5th gear run twice last night and each time right at 7000 rpms the clutch would start slipping like i pulled the clutch in or somthing, so today we ordered new EBCs from Bike Bandit.. i already have the heavy springs in the bike from bike bandit and an extra steel plate, but it still slips in high gear when you pour on the hell fire.. i had put 1oz of Marvel Mystery oil in with the motor oil on the last change, things were looking pretty good at first . the transmission shifted real good almost like a modern bike and everything still works very good until you want to go fast then the clutches slip, apparently the cork on the friction plates dont like it
.. i have one of those motors sitting on the floor that has the big stuff in it.. i think i'll be spacklin that motor into a frame after i'm finished tuning the other two bikes
..i am learning alot from this stuff

.. bandet, i think the one to one ratio is in 5th gear

You have did this and I have not so you are more experienced than I regarding this motorcycle dyno thing, but the gear you test it in would have to effect the results, because the fifth gear ratio in a Eleven is 4.76 and fourth gear is 5.57.The dyno's computer computes the gear ratio based on the wheel speed and engine rpm and consquently from that standpoint it would be irrevelent which gear you were in were it not for the fact that you lose approximately 1%-2% of torque for each gear it is transferred through in the transmission,so by eliminating fifth gear you have gained what ever you would have lost had the power been transmitted through that gear. There is ton's of information regarding the effects of various oil's on wet clutch engines and the stock clutch in an Eleven will not tolerate the trick oil, Marvel or otherwise. I am following your experience closely, because I have a trick Eleven and a pretty much stock V-Max that I'm going to test once I find someone I trust to do it.Good luck and it appear's that with a big motor, good heads and maybe a set of cam's you are well on your way to a 100 HP and going where few have gone before.

I think what impresses me about the old Eleven is the torque curve. I mean look at that thing!

It develops most of it's torque around 3000 revs and is very flat all the way out.

Absolutely awesome for an old inline four.

.. long flat torque curves that start early, this is why they call these bikes "Grunts"
.. this picture is of tonights run [in red] and last thursday nights run [in blue].. the only changes i made this time was two more 1/2" holes in the bottom of the air box. i now have 10 holes, i have no more room to drill which is ok with me, the sparkplugs are starting to look a little light in color.
.. the bike gained very little in hp and torque this time but the lines are straighter.. aside from a small step between idle and 3000 rpms [my pilot circuit might be a little lean now] i really like how this bike runs now,. no more dyno runs for the "Red"
.. summary of whats been done to this bike:
KnN air filter in the stock air box with 10 -1/2"inch holes drilled in the bottom
the stock exhaust altered by adding larger diameter baffels straight through to the crossover/colector chambers bypassing the resonators
and 140 main jets, needles in the middle position
.. after i'm finished d!ckin around with the idle circuit a little more
                                the "Ugly" bike is next
