  • what about deeper case scratches

    I dumped the bike last year and the left case cover has some deeper grooves in it. Anyone try fill welding this and grinding or is this something that polishes out too? Maybe a stupid question.... But if I didn't ask, I may never know - and knowing is half the battle.

    I had some pretty deep scratchs on the right side cover down on the angled flat. I took a hand file with the cover removed to take them down. Then went to the conventiopnal way to finnish it out. Bet you can't find them or tell the difference without a gage. Don't know how you could fill them without them sticking out like a sore thumb.
    There's always a way, figure it out.

        Tom;
        If you know someone who is good with aluminum welding, that will work. You can fill in the deep groves with a bead, and use a grinder to smooth it out. After that, just start the polish procedure.
