  • how to clean black crome

    hey! could someone tell me the best way to clean the black crome pipes on my 80 XS1100 midnight special.have a little spot rust near the motor,steel wool?,good or bad.thanks

    DON"T USE STEEL WOOL!!!!

    I used regular chrome polish (Mothers in this case) on mine and it worked fine.

    Some have said that steel wool leaves steel residue (microscopic?) behind which rusts. Tho it may look nice immediately after cleaning, it will get worse as the steel left behind rusts.
