  • Torque value

Maybe I've looked over it, but for an XJ, I can't find anywere in the manual what the torque value for the exhaust stud nuts should be.

Try the German torque...goodantite! Or just tighten them till they snap, and then back them off 1/2 turn. No really, my Clymer manual say 14.5 lbs/ft for the exhaust flanges on an XS, so that's what I would tighten them to.

It's on page 7-11 of the XJ service manual. 14fp or 20Nm -Tom.

Thank You. I looked at page 7-8, which has torque values, then 7-9 which has specifications and didn't look any further.
That's weird putting a page and a half of different material in the middle of the torque values.
What is really stupid, is that I have used pages 7-10 and 7-11 before for the torque values.
