    Rotors

I recently boughht a 79 XS1100F. I've done a lot of work and it's nearly ready for the road, except the rotors seem to have some pretty deep groves in them. Should the rotors have these gooves in them, or should they be fairly smooth (as I feel they sould be)? It has pads that still have a lot of meat on them, but they were soaked with oil and brake fluid, so I have replacement pads to install. Anybody have any suggestions as to where I can get my best deal on repplacement rotors if I need them?

    roters

I have two good used front brake rotors in my parts pile. In excellent condition. Off of a 78e so they are non slotted type. E-mail me at Andreashweiss@yahoo.com I am in Oroville, Wa so shipping should not be to bad. Andreas

The replacement rotors are needed. If you have a drill press, look for the link on drilling the rotors. I did that with all three on my bike, and it stops great, even in the rain. If you don't drill, expect about two seconds before the brakes start to do anything in the rain.
