Here's my webpage message... I can send pics direct to anyone that is interested...
After many years of work on my 1978 XS11E, Sticky Fingers, I am throwing in the towel... deciding to devote my spare time to riding, not wrenching.
Sticky is mostly complete and in reasonably good condition. I did a top end re-build after XS ’98, and then threw the cam chain… which screwed the valves. I replaced the valves and cam chain and then I ran out of time. Other than that, she is in decent shape. All 3 brake calipers have been rebuilt, although they'll all need new pads at some point. New rings and cylinder honing occurred less than 3000 miles ago. The coils were re-built per the tech tip on the xs11 page. Remember, she has sat for a few years, so there is some surface rust to deal with.
In addition to the bike, I have amassed several boxes of parts and have stripped two mostly complete spare engines. All must go. Me and my family are moving and a new bike for me is part of the deal. Sticky is not. She carried me 3000 miles in 9 days in 1998. I have a soft place in my heart for her, and hope she finds a good home. I am sad to see her go, but go she must. It is time to move on.
I am posting this to these lists hoping that someone will see the value and offer me a fair price for the lot. Biding starts today (5-2-05) and ends 5-15-05 at 6:00pm EDT. If a reasonable offer has been submitted, me and the winning bidder will work out shipping and/or delivery and the deal will be done. If it doesn’t work out, I will get a warehouse and sell the lot part by part when I get the time.

ELECTRICAL PARTS <PLEASE READ>
As much of the electrical parts came off of non-running parts bikes, I can not vouch for their operational condition. You are buying a lot of electrical parts with this lot. There is a chance that some of them will not work, but I am fairly certain that most of them will. There is no guarantee, implied or otherwise, as to the operational condition of these parts. They are being sold “as is”. Again, I bought them with the reasonable confidence that they would work.

BIDS/PAYMENT <PLEASE READ>
All bids must come via email to dwhogue@bellsouth.net. It is first come first serve based on the time stamp of the email. The highest bid as of 5-15-05, 6:00pm EDT will get the lot, assuming my minimum is met. I prefer a cashiers check or money order, but will accept personal checks or PayPal. Personal checks may delay delivery.
