I have an 80LG as well and I have swapped out the speedometer to a 1979 model. Got tired of the 85 limit. My auto cancel is not working either. Would this swap cause the signals not to cancel?

Could be according to the factory manual the 79 speedometer has a 4 pin plug while the SG and LG have a three pin plug

After getting the relay from ebay and trying it. It didn't work, All the bulbs including the headlight are oem, I bit the bullet and ordered a new 1A0-83350-70-00 from DGY Motorsports. They sent Part # 2NV-83355-00-00. The new part is rectangular but comes with its own rubber mount. It works. It fits. And I think its ALL ELECTRONIC.
