Parts bought today for first phase of xj1100 overhaul!

Hey there everybody boy today i dropped some cash at my local yamaha dealer so that i can get phase one started in my xj1100 rebuild/resto/ making this bike roadworthy process. heres what I picked up: oil filter/ 4qtrs 20w-50 motor oil (not synthetic) 2 air filters. complete replacement brakepads front and rear. front master cylinder rebuild kit. brake fluid. hypoid gear oil. replacement cap for front handlebar bolt.(where you adjust bar height) oh yeah and a set of new plugs. carbs ofcourse need some work but the bike runs with choke off now but will die when throttle applied. hoping seafom will do the trick. will be taking lots of pics and hoping to make a web page diary of the process.

Hey sounds like a plan would be cool to see and meet other xj xs ers out there well have to set something up is your ride up and running?

gonna try and get my beast ready this summer just needs an overall tuneup and she should be good to go now just got to get to fixin!

yea i'm road worthy,i work in niles and live up on the wis il border,been riding almost every day for a couple weeks now.And she runs just fine,with the help of this site of coarse. I know the feeling,i met Rover last year very nice guy.I'm still working on getting to a rally though,just starting a new job again so time off is tough.But we have a plant shut down comming over the forth week so maybe?

hey thats cool that you work in niles im always up that way towards village crossing for movies shopping etc. maybe if i can get my bike going soon we can try that rally or meet up at wildwings for a quick bite and check out or xj's niles is just a 10-15 minute scoot up the 94 and so close to home. we will try and plan something. or if im going riding ill try and contact you my main ride is my 2000 suzuki bandit 600 and its in great shape bought her new and have been taking real good care of her talk to you later!
