Carburetor synchronizer

Hi, where can I find a carbs synchronizer for my Midnights 1100 or if there is another way to adjust my carbs. The problem is that I start my bike and after 5 minute running , there is only one exhaust that become hot , the other one stay cold ??????????????????? My ignition is fine..........

only one of your pipes hot? 3 cold? Kinda funny. Not sure a carb sychronizer will help that. probably have more problems then out of synch. New synchronizers are at JC Whitney though.

That says to me that you're got a fuel delivery problem from one of the petcocks. This will kill two cylinders at once, either 1-2 or 3-4. At the same time, it tells me you have a broken pick-up coil wire which also kills two cylinders at once, this time 1-4 or 2-3. Which cylinder is getting hot?

Here's another interesting and much cheaper homemade synchronizer...Off Site Homemade Synchronizer

I'm going to make this one, and try to design it to use the single tube, but with a set of valves, so that I can connect to all 4 carbs, and then switch vacuum from the different carbs to either side of the "balance" synchronizing tubing, so I only have to use the 1 long tube and ruler, instead of duplicating it !

About that home-made balancer. So they haven't tried it yet eh? No dampers? I don't reckon it'd work. There'd be all sorts of problems with the levels. The oil would get sucked up like they said.

Pull your carbs and I'll bet you have (3) choke holes in the bowls which are plugged or nearly plugged. If it were petcocks it would only affect (2) of them. (3) says carbs to me.

The holes are located in the bowls and are very very small. Clean them with a tag wire (don't drill) and your bike will start like new. You can tell if there plugged by putting your mouth over the port on the bowl flange and blowing - a very slight noise of air should be heard.

Im suprised your bike is even running, if its only running on 1 cyl... if 3 of your exhaust pipes are cold.. then no exhaust is going through them.. hence no combustion.. Check your spark plugs for gap, as well as the condition, are they wet, dry, brown/gold, white, black.. this could help up help you

Well, that cheap oil fluid balancing synchro looked interesting, so I spent $10.00 on supplies and tried it!

IT DON'T WORK!!! But you knew that!

The thing is SO SENSITIVE that just a slight variation in vacuum from 1 of the 2 cylinders causes it to be sucked right up!!
Thankfully I had used MM Oil in it, so no harm to engine! So... now I'm on the hunt for the parts to make the round vacuum gauge unit that Nashville Bill posted about in the Carbs Maintainance Tech Tips!

Experiment enough and you'll have spent the $45 my Motion Pro sticks cost at the bike shop. Why reinvent the wheel?

Mercury has is about 10x denser than water and water is 10% denser than oil. If the mecury column goes up 12 inches with a slight blip of the throttle, you would need about 11 feet of a column of oil for the same vacuum. You CAN make this work if you raise the ceiling in the garage and use a ladder! :-)
