Carrying the name McGyver, You should be able to make new wires outta bubble gume, a piece of tape and a boy scout knife.
There are a wide variety of wires available at just about any auto part store. I would stay away frome the carbon core. They are not very compatable with the screws on the inside of the caps. I've had good luck with the copper core wires. I usually buy wire in 6-8 ft lengths. Better to have a little bit extra then not quite enough.
