    Front Forks

I was riding around the other day and noticed that my forks really flex fore and aft. Is this a problem on all of these bikes or just on my 80. Is it something to worry about? And is there another fork that will work on my 80 special that is stouter?

Heck I don't even know if "stouter" is a word.

    Thanks

Balance the tires, replace fork oil, get a fork brace!

Have you checked the steering head bearings to see if they're loose ?

Steering head bearings are fine as is the tire and wheel balance, Is there another set of forks that can be crossed to this bike?

            Hey Barry,

I have 4" over length upper tubes on mine, and my forks also flex like you described, but it's not a problem to worry about. The specials have longer upper tubes vs. the standard due to the leading axle position vs. the bottom mounted lower sliders!

Quit looking at your front wheel and watch the road anyways!

              Hey T.C.,
You're no fun at all are ya, It's a challenge to watch traffic while you're watching your front tire...

Thanks for the tip though I won't worry.
