I get a clunk when I transition on/off power (i.e. accelerate then decelerate or vice versa). Is this a sign that the splines are warn?

        Thanks, Luxury!

Oh geez... thanks alot Luxury. Guess I now have to disassemble MY rear end. I have the same clunking. I never checked, but I figured the ring and pinion gear set -up was sloppy, so I went to Yama and bought 4 or 5 of those spacer shim rings. (Not too expensive, and I like to have all the parts that I MIGHT need on hand before disassembling anything) Splines and u-joints looked ok a few years ago, so naturally I thought along the lines of the gear mesh. I'm interested to hear what the big boys think the prob is. Anyone out there ever do a rear end shim job before?
