Battleaxx BT45's??

I know, I know, Not another tire thread....... But after trying to do a search, I can not find any info about Battleaxx tires.
There is a current thread in the XJ site, that seems pretty complimentary.
I was just about to buy a set of ME-880's but now I am wondering.
The guy at the tire counter is really reccommending the Battleaxx.

My info:
I currently have a set of Kenda Challengers.
I only ride a few thousand miles a year, so longevity is nowhere as important as grip.
I commute on a freeway that has a lot of tar snakes and subtle surface changes, (diagonally accross the lanes,from re-routing the lanes several times)
I weigh about 175, and usually am one-up. Occationally with fairly light camping gear.
I am inclined to have fairly wide chicken strips, but am trying to grow some stones. )
Anyone have info on the Battleaxx??

You might want to do a search on Bridgestone Battleaxe BT45's. You will get a lot of hits. I have Bridgestone Spitfire's on my bike and they perform extremely well, so I would expect the Battleaxe's to perform even better since they are designed for sport bikes. I hope this helps.

I have used the BT57, BT54, BT020, BT010 (Ok not on an XS) and I find the B'stones to be good tires. The 020 is my choice of rear on the Bandit, and is the only one of that bunch that is current.

I had Bt45'S, liked them a lot. I would put them on again. Just so happens I got a deal on some ME88's I like them also.

When I said that I did a search, and found nothing, I didn't say that I had no idea that the Battleaxe was made by Bridgestone.
Between mis-spelling "battleaxx" and dropping the manufacturer's name entirely, I eliminated most search results. DOH

I will let you know how I like the BRIDGESTONE tires.

I was also recommended to get the BT45's and I am really pleased with them.
Just saw in a Motorrad-magasine (the largest motorcycle magasine in europe) that they won a comparison between tires for older bikes hands down...well as far as I could understand with my poor German skills.
I will make a post later about how many kilometers I got out of em

OK, so I had the BT45's mounted and rode to work today.
Though I have not pushed them yet, I am really pleased with the way that they felt on the freeway.
I am looking forward to getting out in the hills for a while this weekend.
BTW, the tire guy that installed the tires chuckled when he saw that I was removing what appeared to be a perfectly good set of Kenda Challengers.
He said" Those are Challengers. The real challenge is keeping the bike upright, and on the road. Those are the tires that you want to sell to your ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend" LOL

take it easy on the twisties for about a hundred miles the tires need to 'clean up' and remove a sealer they will be slippery till then but then 'much gooder' I have used bridgestone dual compound tires for about 15 years and like them but ymmv ,
Wayne and Maxim Phil from around here have them as well maybe they're better snowtires
