Hi All
Whilst working on my project - I was checking the wheel alignment as Yamaha suggests (equal on both sides of the swing arm) and the wheels were out of synch by about 17mm.
Has anyone checked their bike out of curiosity. ??
When I adjusted the swing arm so the wheels were aligned (checked by straight bar either side of the wheels) the 'swing arm drive shaft hole' was also in exact alignment with the drive from the engine.
After doing that, that's when I found the discrepancy of 17mm - the swing arm had to be adjusted all the way to the left of the bike to get the wheels aligned.
Boy - this sounds complicated, it's easier to show rather than type it!
Yamaha apparently got the wheel alignment wrong with the V-max so it set me thinking that they also got it wrong with the XS11 .......or it just means that I've got a bent frame.
What're your thoughts and hopefully your measurements?
