Thanks for the compliments. I absolutely love my bike!!! I have had it about three colors already, but it gets so hot here in Arizona, the dark colored tanks just boil the gas. My next mods are to remove one of the front brake calipers and rotor (and clean up the fork), and fabricate my own 4 into 1 exhaust system.

i had to get another seat ,that one fell apart ,i got a new old stock diamond pattern one to go on there now,the exhausts

well ,one down pipe is rusted and the silencers are aftermarket what ever will fit!!! they are long so getting the rear wheel out will be bother!!! (not sure the frame has the lugs for the cable lift)i got some twin horns to go on as well (need to weld a bracket up i think) and most parts for an oilcooler ,but bit dubiouse of more pipe work which is more risk of a failure ,got some mirrors as well ,just no time, energy or committment while the weather is crap,i got some inlet rubbers to do ,a nice looking set of coils to go on,my octopus is a mess ,the clutch needs overhauled and the shimms and camchain are in the pipe line
just for peace of mind really

your bars look great on your's ,and the seat is nice and black it looks awesome!!!

just checking your's over again ,think the silver makes it much more modern retro looking so brings it forward a few years making it very presentable ,my headlight ears are all cut about and the light sits lower than it should (don't even know if it's the correct light for it??also don't like the look of my black shocks ,but they are koni so stupid to take them off for looks alone ,but still a bug bear!!!not keen on the tread pattern of my front tyre either but now i'm just getting fussy!!!

                Gaffer,
What are those dust boots (the accordian thingies) off of?
I want some for my Midnight Special to get rid of all the silver on the bike.

i cant stand them ,don't know what they are off sorry ,can prob get them from www.mandp.co.uk or busters motorcycle spares

over here give them the size of forx and they will know

they are called fork gaitors over here

if you are not in a hurry you can have mine ,once i fit my brace and fork seal covers

prob be around $5.00 to send over the pond ,you can have them but if you got anything like a dipstick for the shaft and middle gear or any other parts like round indicator lenses or something
                  they'd be much appreciated ,

I like the black shocks myself. I noticed your headlight appears to be different than the ones I have seen. Still looks good. I had bought my seat off E-bay too, although I only had it on the bike for about 3 days before my dog chewed it up. I had it recovered for $60.00 and they had it done in one day. I like my drag bars, they feel so much better than stock, I also lowered the bike alot, probably 4 inches in all... I also put new decals from Yamaha on my tank in place of the original badges, which I think makes it look a bit newer.. I also did away with my octopus thing and installed one filter for each set of carbs.

Dog's eh!! jelouse mutt i'd say ,of all the things to chew !!!

mine just pee's up my wheels ,the begger!!!or in the saggy bit of my bike cover so i get wet feet when i pull the cover off after a few days.

i never used to fancy the midnights Pat ,but i think it was because very few are original and allot are 1.1's turned out to be midnights so some look wierd to me

but the more i see midnights and 1.1's the more i like both models ,some are luuuuuvvvly!!!!be boring if all bikes were the same anyway, wouldn't it???

going bak to the seat and also other parts ,trying to get these bits in England is like rocking horse s**t you are so lucky out there!!!

Speaking of Midnight Specials, I just found one in the local Motorcycle trader on Friday night, it had been in the ad for a week, for $450.00. I called and called, it was already sold.... That would have been a good deal.....If I had only noticed it the week before. I wonder who bought it??????
