If they aren't leaking and they look ok, I would shy away from replacing them. Of course, that just IMHO

            Hey there FireFighter,

Well, it looks like you may still have not perused the tech tips section, you can find it on the main FORUM page, just scroll the screen down, and you'll see Maintainence, Repair, Modification, and Misc. tips, like this one:
Alternative way to change fork oil

The standard way is to prop the front of the bike, engine up so that the front wheel is not touching, or barely touching, and be able to lower the bike down onto the front wheel to pump the fluid out later. There is a small screw on the bottom side of the forks, I forgot to verify if your's is a Special, if so, release the air pressure in the caps at the top FIRST. Then have a wide bucket available, and after you unscrew the plug screw, you then push down on the fork tube to pump the oil out, watch out, it will spray outwards pretty strongly, best to have someone holding a cup/pan over the hole to catch the spray.

Once you've got it all out of both fork tubes, then replace the screw. Then support the front again, wheel off ground and remove the spring fork caps from the top, again be careful, they are under some spring tension. Then pour the recommended amount of desired weight fork oil into the tube, then replace the cap. Have fun!
