  • Pickup Coil Wires

I have tried soldering and since I cannot remove the pickups from the bike and don't have anything flot to solder against, I get poor results. Since I do not have a manual (need one though) I did not know where these fragile wires went. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hey Coug,

If you'll follow this link, Parts Catalog

Find your 79SF, and look up the pickup coil section, and any other section if you want, you can zoom in on the photos, so you can see how the parts go together.

Get an ALLEN key wrench and remove the timing plate, then just unscrew the pickup coils from the base plate, and then you can put them where you can solder them.
