I've seen a few Midnight Maxims (1100s) but only one was in even "good" condition.

Actually just ran into (figure of speech) a Midnight XJ at Studio Movie Grill in Plano Texas. It is in pretty good shape. I have seen it there twice, suspect it is an employee. Hope to run into the owner eventually. -
Re - Midnight 1100 Maxim. I'd be very interested to see a picture of this "Sasquatch". None of my research has ever found a single word about them other than hearsay. None of the XJ microfische or any yamaha publications list any midnight parts. The only part number differences for the XJ that I've found can be attributed to Black / Red tanks and side cover inserts. Come on somebody out there, get your spy camera and make me proud. In the mean time sign me:

I'll grab a picture of it . . . We frequent a movie/dinner place that it is parked in front of often. I have seen it about 5 times now. We go twice a week or so . . . I catch it next week if it is there. I have not caught the owner yet.
Side covers actually say "Midnight Maxim" in Gold, and it has the gold XJ wheels (curved spokes) and gold headlight ring, accents, carb tops.
Not an XS, different frame, and engine sides are different. Looks very XS-ish though.Comment

I look forward to it. I'll be able to tell in a moment if it's an XJ or something else. Are you sure it's an 1100? The key panel below the instrument cluster will say "1100" is it is. I believe there were some smaller bikes (XJ's) that had the midnight treatmentDeano K.

according to the 'serial nr and model ID' tip (Misc), it appears that such a beast exists, but was not sold in the US.
the XJ1100ML (and I wonder if that was spozed to be XJ1100LM?
but maybe it's not a midnight.
I may be confused, but at least I don't know what I'm talking about!Mike * Seattle * 82 F'n'XJ1100 *Comment
