    Hey John,

After re-reading this thread, that price of $40.00 that TKAT quoted a while back is right on the money, no pun intended!

After running that Emachine program, getting just the basic design which didn't include rounding off the base, or any chamferring of other edges, using SS 316 or 400 material, they were OVER $45.00 each when ordering a batch of 10-15 units!

If you're able to come up with a cheaper unit price than that, then FOLKS here would be wise to take you up on your offer!!

I just looked at an old e-mail and Hoyt (you remember bat-wings IIRC) used to make them and sell to the list for $28.00 each. Anybody remember Hoyt's name or website...he may be able to help.

          Update

I have finally received the price quote for the pistons. They are:

          For 303 stainless

          Quantity Price Total

          20 $46 $920
          50 $33 $1650
          100 $26 $2600

          For 4140 Annodized

          20 $43 $860
          50 $30 $1500
          100 $24 $2400

Now as you can see, that's way too much of an outlay for my 'Frugal' ass, so we will need for any interested members to be willing to pay up front. The price you see is what you'd pay, plus shipping of course.
Anybody interested? I have a lock on these prices for thirty days.

It's not a rumor. Hoyt has passed away.

Are you folks sure the standard and Special caliper use different pistons? For some reason I thought the pistons were the same.

If that's the case, the piston is available in reproduction. If not, my bad.

The two models take different front calipers, but the rear caliper on a Special is the same ar all three on a Standard. The XS 650 use the same calipers as the 11 Standars, and those pistons are still available, and MikesXS has them for $24 each. Not a bad price, really. I wish I could use them.
The XS 750-850 Specials also uses the same front calipers as the Xs11.
